Makella was the granddam who started us down the path of show-quality alpacas in the past two decades. We are sorry to say that she has passed less than a month from turning 20. This girl contributed some highly valuable genetics to our herd with many of her offspring still existing on our farm! We were blessed and grateful to have her in our lives. Makella had it all - gorgeous fleece with uniformity, soft handle, fineness, tight crimp, and density, along with beautiful conformation, a perfect bite, and ribbon-winning presence. Makella won 5 blue ribbons in 3 different show types - shorn halter, halter, and fleece - proving that she was a complete package. With her 3.5-year-old fleece she won a blue ribbon and RESERVE COLOR CHAMPION in the Northwest Alpaca Showcase 2007. The following year she won 2nd at Nationals with her 4.5-year-old fleece, beating some very well-known farms. And in 2009 she got 1st at the AOBA World Conference with a 19/20 in fineness and handle. The fact that Makella maintains ROYAL fineness and UNIFORMITY as she ages is exactly what we are breeding for. Makella has superior genetics in her background (Peruvian Accolade, Peruvian Augusto, Peruvian El Moustachio) and passed them on to her crias in prime form. Over the years she gave us many top award-winning offspring.

Azera is listed for reference only as she passed in winter of 2023. She had a really lovely personality. Below is her history and description as a breeder. If you are looking for depth in color, fantastic fleece characteristics, a solid conformation, and a winning personality, Azera will win your heart. We are thrilled with the quality of Azera's offspring - very little guard hair, incredible brightness, length, and lasting fineness, and such great bone substance with very attractive conformation. Plus Azera has passed on her inquisitive, pleasant personality. She is a consistent quality producer. Genetics: Azera is the daughter of Aussie Hudson Hawk, a true black champion with phenomenal fleece, and Sweet Pines Catalina, an award winner and producer of champions. Her grandsires are Show Me the Money and HVLA Legacy's Eldorado (a charcoal grey 4Peruvian Legacy son). Fleece: Azera's fleece is a lovely brown. She has won top awards, including 2nd place at the AFCNA Continental Fleece Show (level 4). Conformation: Solid, strong bone, straight legs, great bite, and balance. Azera's half brother is our own Sweet Pines Torino, 3x Reserve CHAMPION, GWAS Color Champion, and AOBA Nationals CHAMPION. Azera was bred to our daughter's new jet black herdsire, multi-champion Crescent Moon's Daytona, for a stunning female cria in 2016, Sweet Pines' Manzanita. She is almost a spitting image of Azera's 2011 son, Eclipse. Azera now has a gorgeous bay black son out of Daytona's Color Champion son, Nocino. Born on 7/1/2021 without assistance and Azera is yet again a fantastic mother!

Springs was one of our best white producers. She consistently produced well-conformed, extremely fine white offspring who ribboned in both halter and fleece shows. She passed away in winter of 2025 but is listed here for reference. Springs threw offspring with phenomenal fiber every time. Lovely brightness, fantastic density, luscious soft handle, and consistent bold, attractive crimp throughout the long staple length. Her sire, Spanish Peaks Alpha Centauri is an elite result of Snowmass breedings. He throws champion offspring with long staple length, incredible luster, density, and fineness even when he produces color. Springs' first cria, Avalanche, has long, bright, crimpy, incredibly soft, blue ribbon winning fiber just like his dam. He was literally up and running in 12 minutes after birth. We were thrilled with this very healthy boy and bred her back to El Campeon twice, which resulted in Trooper, another vibrant white boy with fantastic fleece, and Lumina, an extremely dense, soft, daughter with excellent bone substance. Springs also produced a healthy female cria out of San Simeon, son of Rico Suave, a line known for extreme fineness (<14 microns).
