Spanish Peaks Banderas

Huacaya Herdsire (Male) Dark Rose Grey

AOA# 20000394 DOB: 6/18/200518 yrs
Banderas is retired as a breeder. His info is here for reference. His last cria was a very dense and uniformly fine brown handsome little male - Spyker. Spyker is winning awards with his wonderful fleece! He is currently being offered as a junior herdsire and will likely be ready to breed starting 2024. Banderas is an EPD Top 1%er! His stats are excellent overall, but his EPD in staple length soars. Did you read Ian Watt's article in Alpacas Magazine? YES, length matters! To that end, we are ...

Sweet Pines Ciera

Huacaya Open (Female) Medium Fawn

AOA# 30457188 DOB: 7/29/200617 yrs
Ciera is being sold as a retired mama. She has produced many spectacular offspring and make a lovely pasture pet. Ciera: LASTING FINENESS, FANTASTIC BLOODLINES, confident easy-going personality, TERRIFIC HEAD, & RICH fawn COLOR. Ciera would make an excellent foundation female. Ciera's mother, Tasha Yar, is the granddam of our herd, and producer of many award-winners. Ciera's very studly charcoal grey sire, ElDorado, gives Ciera a high potential to throw grey and black. And with grandsires 4Pe ...

Champion True Black!

Crescent Moon's Daytona

Huacaya Herdsire (Male) True Black

AOA# 32670752 Deceased
We are sad to announce that Daytona passed away this past winter (2023) of unknown causes. His information will continue to be displayed for reference as he has many offspring, including more to come this summer. Daytona's cria have proven just how capable Daytona is at producing black with such a variety of dam colors. We are thrilled with his offspring. They are dense, silky, crimpy, extremely well put together conformationally, and have such lovely presence. In 2016, Daytona produced 5 ...

Details
Healey's last two crias came from herdsire Crescent Moon's Daytona. Their first cria, Midas, is an extremely handsome high quality true black, and is now a junior herdsire at Shadow Ranch Alpacas. Their second cria is a beautiful deep brown, very friendly daughter. Healey is a wonderful mother with ample milk.

Take a look at Healey's fleece pic and you can see the glow. The yarn we had made from her fleece is heavenly. It has such a silky feel and beautiful appeal. This is partly due also to her extreme fineness. Given Healey's genetics, she is likely to keep this fineness throughout her life and pass it on to all her offspring. On top of that, she has sound, well balanced conformation with correct proportions and bite.

Healey's full siblings will give you an idea of the quality and exciting color this girl has the potential to produce. Her brother, Dasher, is a color champion for his brown fleece with 15/15 for brightness. Her sister, Tigra, is dark rose grey and holding her fineness in the low 20s. And finally Lotus, also a top award winner for her fleece, is holding her fineness into adulthood as well. They all exhibit their sire's trait of exceptional fleece length, which has put him in the top 1% in EPDs.

Healey's sire, Spanish Peaks Banderas, is a multi-champion modern dark rose grey and has produced several champions in a variety of colors. Most notably, his son, Sweet Pines Torino, has won 5 championships including brown color champion for his fleece at the AOBA national show.

Healey can be bred to one our herdsires at no additional fee or to multi-champion Daytona for half his usual stud fee.
