Sheyenne had a rough beginning with an infected knee that took months to clear up when she was only 1 year old. We weren't sure if she could recover fully and go on to produce offspring, but wow did she ever prove herself in 2006. Not only does her knee appear completely healed, but she produced without any complications, a darling light fawn cria, with fleece that shines. And even as a first-time mom, the balance of protectiveness & playfulness seemed to come naturally. Sheyenne's sire is the well-known dark fawn Dom Alamir, who produced many award-winning offspring. So with the little bit of color & great genetics in her background, we had high hopes for Sheyenne, and she has not disappointed us. She was the perfect candidate for a breeding with our young fawn herdsire, El Campeon.
In 2007, they produced a dark fawn male with crimp, fineness, coverage,
and lots of personality.
